The Hayloft Cumrew

The Hayloft is in Cumrew. It's a converted barn, on the first floor. You get the walled garden and shared use of the tennis court. There's parking right outside.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms. One super king with an en-suite shower, and one twin. The twin room has a bathroom next to it that it shares with the hallway. Both are upstairs. Downstairs there's just a utility room and a toilet, which is handy for boots and dogs.

The main living area is all one room: kitchen, dining, and sitting area. It's open plan with high ceilings and beams. There's a wood burning stove. The stairs up to it are a proper flight, not a ladder, but they are quite steep.

You can bring one dog. The garden is walled, which is good for that. There's a gate at the top of the stairs too, if you need it.

It's a quiet spot. Brampton is about ten minutes by car for shops and cafes. Carlisle is maybe twenty-five minutes. Hadrian's Wall is close by, you can be at Birdoswald in under half an hour. The Lake District National Park starts about forty minutes south, around Penrith.

For local walks, the Eden Valley is good. It's gentler than the Lakes. There's fishing on the River Eden if that's your thing.

Facilities: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, Wi-Fi, and all the bedding and towels are included. The wood for the stove is provided.
