The Getaway Middleton

The Getaway is on Ocean Edge holiday park in Middleton, near Heysham. It's one of a row of similar bungalows.

It sleeps eight. Three bedrooms and one shower room. There's also a separate toilet. One of the sofas in the lounge converts into a double bed. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's clean and functional.

The parking space is yours. There's a small furnished seating area outside the front. You can bring up to two dogs.

It's on a park, so there's a kids' play area on site. You get passes for the park, but some activities cost extra. The park facilities are open for ten months of the year.

There's a local pub. Heysham village is a short walk away. It's quiet, with a few cafes and the old St Patrick's Chapel ruins you can look around. Morecambe promenade and beach are about two miles away for the classic seaside stuff.

You're well placed for day trips. Lancaster is ten minutes by car for the castle and shops. The Forest of Bowland is about half an hour's drive for walking. Same for the southern edge of the Lake District. Blackpool is around twenty-five minutes if you want the Pleasure Beach or the lights.

Inside, it's open plan. The kitchen is a galley style, so it's a bit narrow. There's a gas fire in the lounge, a Smart TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine.
