Bordeaux Heysham

This is Bordeaux. It’s a caravan on a holiday site in Heysham, Lancashire. It sleeps six, has three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The rating feels right, it’s comfortable and modern.

The main thing is the view. You walk in the front door and the back wall is pretty much all glass, with doors out onto a decked terrace. The view is straight over the fields to the Irish Sea. You can sit out there with a coffee and just look at it. The living area is open plan, with the kitchen and dining table. It’s a decent space.

There’s a double bedroom with its own small ensuite toilet and basin. Then there are two twin rooms. The family bathroom has a walk-in shower. Everything you need is there: bedding, towels, WiFi, dishwasher, washing machine. You get one parking space right outside.

Being on a holiday complex means there are things on site. There’s a sports bar, sometimes weekend entertainment, a playground, and a swimming pool. The site is open ten months of the year.

The village centre is about a mile away. It’s got an old coaching inn that does food and has a heated garden bar. Morecambe is about ten minutes in the car. You’ve got the promenade and the sandy beach there. The Lancaster Castle is a straightforward drive, maybe fifteen minutes.

For a day out, you can get into the southern bit of the Lake District in under an hour. The same for the Forest of Bowland.

No pets, sorry. And because it’s a holiday site, there are other caravans around you. It’s not isolated.
