Mousehall Oast Tidebrook

Mousehall Oast is in Tidebrook, on the edge of East Sussex. It's part of our old vineyard estate, so you're surrounded by woods and the old vines. It's an oast house, so it's that classic round building you see around here, but it's been done up for living in.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, three bathrooms, one each. It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's well-finished. Good linen, that sort of thing. All bedrooms are ensuite. One of the downstairs bedrooms is in the round bit of the oast, which some people like.

The stairs go up to the main bedrooms. They're normal stairs, but the steps are a bit narrower than in a new house because of the old building.

There's an open plan living area with a wood burner. The kitchen is part of that. Outside, there's a south-facing patio with a BBQ, looking over the garden. There's also a hot tub.

It's very quiet here. You can walk straight out into the woods from the property. The High Weald area is all around, good for walking. Local riding stables can arrange horse riding if you book ahead. There's a golf course about ten minutes' drive away in Rotherfield.

For shops and pubs, you're best driving to Wadhurst or Ticehurst, both about five to ten minutes away. Tunbridge Wells is about twenty minutes by car for more shops. The coast at Hastings or Rye is about half an hour.

Facilities: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, parking on site. All bedding and towels are included. No pets.

If you're looking for things to do, the National Trust has a few properties nearby like Bodiam Castle. For train trips into London, Wadhurst station is close.
