Longsands Retreat Tynemouth

Longsands Retreat is on Percy Park Road in Tynemouth. It's on the first and second floors of the building, so you go up a flight of stairs to get in. The rooms are big. It's a 4 Star place, which is good.

It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms which is useful. You can bring one dog. The stairs inside are fine, standard for a flat.

You're about a two minute walk from Longsands beach. It's a good, wide beach. The sea is cold, but people do swim. There's a promenade you can follow all the way to Whitley Bay.

The metro station is five minutes walk. It's about 25 minutes into Newcastle. The station has a market at the weekends. It's busy.

In Tynemouth itself, there are cafes and shops. The priory is there if you like history, and they sometimes have music in the summer. There's a couple of pubs nearby. The King's Priory School is across the road, so there can be some noise during the day in term time.

Facilities: WiFi, Smart TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's no private parking, but you can usually find on-street parking nearby. You get a permit for the zone.

If you want to go further out, Whitley Bay is a short drive or a nice walk along the coast. North Shields fish quay is about ten minutes by car. For a day trip, you can get to Hadrian's Wall in under an hour. The Northumberland coast, places like Alnwick and Bamburgh, are about an hour's drive north.
