The View is one of the old coastguard cottages in Tynemouth. It's detached. The main thing is the outlook. You look out at the sea, the priory, and the lifeboat station.
It sleeps ten people. Five bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's a 3 Star property, so it's clean and has what you need, but it's not luxurious. The owner has left some old photos of the place's history, which is interesting. It used to belong to the Crown Estate.
You're right on the front at Spanish Battery. The promenade goes for miles towards Cullercoats and Whitley Bay. The beach is about a ten minute walk. There's a pub and restaurant five minutes away. Shops are about ten.
Tynemouth itself has a bit of everything. Good beaches, the priory ruins, cafes, and places to eat. The weekend market in the metro station is popular. You can walk along to Whitley Bay and see the Spanish City dome. For a day out, you can get the metro into Newcastle. It's about twenty minutes.
If you drive, you can go north up the Northumberland coast. Places like Alnwick Castle and Bamburgh are within an hour. Heading west, you can get to parts of Hadrian's Wall in under an hour.
For facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a woodburning stove and a BBQ. The garden has a couple of seating areas and a private play area for children. There are also bikes you can use.
