Marley's Retreat

Marley's Retreat is an apartment in Holywell, near Seaton Delaval. It's a first floor flat. Sleeps five, in two bedrooms. One bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's clean and comfortable but not luxurious.

You can see the river from the back windows. There are nice walks straight from the door down into the Holywell Dene. There are two pubs in the village, both friendly.

The coast is about three miles away at Seaton Sluice. It's a good sandy beach, quite quiet. Whitley Bay is a short drive. They've done up the Spanish City there, so there are bars and restaurants. You can walk the promenade from Whitley Bay to Tynemouth. Tynemouth has a sealife centre, the priory and castle, and some decent surf.

Newcastle city centre is about a twenty minute drive, or you can get the metro from nearby. If you head north up the coast into Northumberland, there are castles like Warkworth and Cragside within half an hour. Hadrian's Wall and the Northumberland National Park are also within easy reach for a day out.
