Marley's Retreat

Marley's Retreat is a ground floor flat in Holywell village, Seaton Delaval. It's not in a cottage, it's in a modern-ish block. You get the whole place to yourselves.

It sleeps five and has two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place. It's clean, it's comfortable, it's not fancy. The main upside is the location.

You can see a bit of the river from the back windows. Two pubs are a short walk away. They're both fine, they serve food. You can walk straight from the door down into the Dene, which is a wooded valley.

The coast is three miles away. Seaton Sluice beach is good sand and usually quiet. North up the coast you've got Whitley Bay, Cullercoats, and Tynemouth. The Spanish City in Whitley Bay is worth a look. Tynemouth has the priory ruins, a sea life centre, and good surf.

Newcastle city centre is about a twenty minute drive, or you can get the Metro from nearby. If you drive north up the Northumberland coast, there are castles like Bamburgh and Alnwick. Hadrian's Wall is under an hour inland. The Northumberland National Park is good for walking and they have dark sky status.

In the flat there's a washing machine, WiFi, TV, and all the bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a golf course locally and you can fish nearby.
