Brier Dene Middle Cottage

It's Brier Dene Middle Cottage, on our farm near Whitley Bay. It's one of three cottages here, in the middle of the row.

The cottage has two bedrooms and sleeps three. It's got a 4 Star rating. The beds are good, we had them made locally. The bedding is cotton. There's one bathroom with a shower.

It's on a working arable farm. There are Welsh mountain ponies in the field. You get a small patio area at the front, it looks out over the land.

Inside, there's a wood burner. We've left some local history books and artefacts that we like. There's a TV, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Parking is right outside.

The stairs are fine. No pets, I'm afraid.

There's a pub about half a mile down the lane. They're friendly and do food. The nearest shop is about two miles away in Seaton Sluice.

You can walk to St Mary's Lighthouse from the door. The beach at Seaton Sluice is two miles away. Tynemouth and Cullercoats are a short drive. Tynemouth has a long beach and the Priory.

For getting further out, you're close to the main roads. Newcastle city centre is about twenty minutes by car. Northumberland is straight up the coast. Alnwick Castle is about forty minutes. Hadrian's Wall is under an hour to the west.
