The Rose Garnswllt

The Rose is a boat on a private lake. It's on a farm near Garnswllt in Carmarthenshire. The access road is a rough farm track, so take it slow.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms. Both have their own small ensuite shower rooms. The main bedroom has a small double bed and a single. The second bedroom is a single. The spaces are compact, as you'd expect on a boat. There's a separate shower block by the lake if you need more room.

Downstairs is open plan: a kitchen, a living area, and a U-shaped dining bench. It has a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, but the unique layout is the main thing.

Up on the top deck there's seating under a canvas roof. You can retract part of it for a clearer view. The view is over the lake and fields. There's a wood-fired hot tub on the bank. You can also use the private island with its dome for a picnic.

It's a working farm. You'll see sheep, alpacas, and buffalo in the fields. You can fish in the lake. For more fishing, the Lower Lliw Reservoir is nearby.

For walking, you can pick up the old Gower pathway from here. It goes all the way to Rhossili Bay. The National Trust Rhossili page has good information.

Swansea is about a 20-minute drive. The Gower Peninsula, for beaches like Rhossili, is within 30 minutes.

Facilities include bedding, towels, a washing machine, WiFi, and parking. The hot tub is private to this boat. No pets, sorry. You can book it with other properties on the farm for larger groups.
