Old School Retreat

Old School Retreat is the old village school building in Puddletown. It's been done up to a good standard. It sleeps eight, with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so everything's in good order.

The main living space is open plan, kitchen and sitting area together, which is good for a group. The garden is enclosed at the back, with a patio and space for a BBQ. It's private.

In terms of facilities, you've got the main things: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking on site. We can take up to two dogs.

The stairs are original, so not the shallowest. That's just how it was built. There's a highchair and a cot if you need them.

Puddletown is a proper village. The Blue Vinney pub is a couple of minutes' walk away. They do food. There's also a village shop.

You're about twenty minutes from the coast at Weymouth. Dorchester is ten minutes in the car, for supermarkets and the museum. If you want a long walk on the beach, Studland is about forty minutes drive. The Jurassic Coast is all along there.

For a day out, the New Forest is just under an hour. Bournemouth is about forty minutes. If you're interested in Thomas Hardy, his cottage at Higher Bockhampton is very close.
