Carnau Mawr is a farm cottage near Drefach in Carmarthenshire. It's one of two semi-detached places converted from an old milking parlour on a working beef farm. So you'll see cattle and chickens around, and there's a public footpath through the farm if you want a walk.
The place sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, so it's well equipped and clean. Being an old farm building, the ceilings are low in some parts, and the door frames are a bit low too. You get used to it.
Out the back is your own enclosed garden with a hot tub and a barbecue. It looks out over the fields.
In terms of facilities, you've got a washing machine, dishwasher, a cot and highchair if needed, bedding and towels are included, and there's parking right outside. WiFi is there. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
The hamlet of Meidrim is a couple of minutes' drive away. It has a pub and a big play park for kids.
You're right on the border with Pembrokeshire. The coast at Tenby and Saundersfoot, with the beaches and everything, is about half an hour's drive. Carmarthen market town is about 20 minutes. For castles, you've got Kidwelly, Carew, and Dynevor all within easy reach. Laugharne, where Dylan Thomas lived, is nearby too.
For bigger days out, Oakwood Theme Park, Folly Farm, and Heatherton are all within 30 minutes.
