Old Hop Kiln is one of the cottages at Whitewells Farm, near Ridgeway Cross. It's a converted hop kiln, so the building is unusual. The kitchen and the main bathroom are circular because of the old kiln shape. It has a lot of original beams and trusses.
It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms upstairs: one double and two twins. Downstairs there's a living and dining area with open stairs going up. There are two bathrooms. One is that big circular one with a shower over the bath. The other is a separate shower room with a power shower.
The front looks out over the duck pond and one of the lawns. You're welcome to use the garden areas.
The place has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. The stairs are open-tread, so you need to be a bit careful, especially with small children.
You can bring one well-behaved dog. Facilities include WiFi, TV, parking right outside, and all your bedding and towels.
The local pub and a restaurant are about a mile and a half away. For shopping, you're well placed for Hereford, Worcester, Ledbury and Bromyard. They're all within easy driving distance.
If you like walking, the Malvern Hills are right there. You can see them from the cottage. The Black and White Villages trail and the Elgar Route are on the doorstep. There are several National Trust properties nearby, like Berrington Hall and Croft Castle.
For days out, Ludlow is about half an hour away for food and the castle. Hereford Cathedral is roughly 25 minutes. The Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean are also within a 30 minute drive.
