Rushgill House is near Skelton Wood End, which is just on the northern edge of the Lake District. It's about nine miles from Penrith. It's a proper old farmhouse, built in the 1600s.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms, so that's handy. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, not modern luxury. The stairs are a bit steep and narrow, it's that sort of house.
The garden is big. There's a lawn at the front with a terrace. We've left a badminton set and a space for a kickabout. The views are over fields.
Inside, it's spacious. There's a living room with a big fireplace, a separate dining room, and a kitchen with another table. There's also a utility room, which is good for boots and coats.
You can walk straight out from the house. The lanes around here are quiet, good for cycling. Ullswater is about a 20-minute drive. Keswick and the higher fells are about the same.
For facilities, it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring up to four dogs. There's parking right outside.
