The Wheat Shed
The Wheat Shed is on our farm just outside Morton. It's about ten miles from Penrith. We're a working farm with beef cattle, sheep and arable crops, so you'll see animals and farm vehicles coming and going. There's also a woodland area with a lot of wildlife around. We see deer, woodpeckers, and there are swans and ducks on the ponds.
It's a barn conversion, sleeps eight in four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, two of which are en-suite. One bedroom and a wet room shower are on the ground floor, which is handy if stairs are difficult. The rating is 5 Star, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable.
It's open plan inside. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and wifi. Bedding and towels are included. We have a cot, highchair and stairgate if you need them. There's parking right outside. Sorry, no pets.
The nearest pub serving food is about a mile and a half away. The shop is in Langwathby, three miles away.
You're well placed for the northern Lakes. Ullswater is close by for sailing or a trip on the steamer. Penrith has all the main shops. For walks, you can be on the lower fells or by the lakes in under half an hour. Keswick and the M6 are about a twenty minute drive.
