Beacon Cottage is near Ivegill. It's attached to our house, but it's self-contained. You've got your own garden and terrace. The view of Saddleback, the big mountain on the skyline, is really the main thing. You see it from most of the windows.
It sleeps five, in two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have their own bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which here means it's well equipped and the finish is good. The kitchen has a dishwasher, and there's a washing machine in the utility cupboard.
We're on about three acres of land, mostly orchards and a meadow. You're welcome to walk around it. It's quiet here.
For a pub, the nearest is about a mile and a half away in Ivegill. The closest shop for basics is in Dalston, which is about three miles. For a bigger supermarket, you'd go to Carlisle.
You're in a good spot for getting about. The northern Lakes are about a thirty minute drive. Ullswater is the closest big lake. Carlisle is twenty minutes north, and you can see the castle. Penrith is fifteen minutes the other way, if you need the shops or the train station. Hadrian's Wall is easily reachable, maybe forty minutes.
Facilities: All bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if needed. WiFi works fine. Parking is right outside.
