Beacon Cottage
Beacon Cottage is on the road between Ivegill village and the A6. It's a single storey cottage, one of two, built into a hillside. The main view is of Saddleback, also called Blencathra. You can see it from most rooms.
It sleeps five. Two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The rating is 5 Star, which means it's been renovated to a high standard. Everything is new and works well. Because it's built into the slope, you park at the top level and walk down steps to the front door.
The local pub, the Crown at Ivegill, is about a ten minute walk away. They do food. The village shop in Ivegill is good for basics.
You're well placed for the northern Lakes. You can be at the foot of Blencathra in under half an hour. Keswick and Ullswater are about twenty five minutes by car. The M6 is close, so Carlisle is twenty minutes one way and Penrith about fifteen the other. You can be on the coast at Allonby or Silloth in forty minutes.
The cottage has a dishwasher, washing machine, and a patio with a table. It's all electric. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for two cars. No pets, sorry.
