The Bothy
The Bothy is on our farm in Morton. It's a semi-detached bungalow, so everything's on one level. You get your own garden. It's quiet here, just the animals and the birds. We've got sheep and cattle, and you'll see deer sometimes.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms, and there are two bathrooms. The 5 Star rating means it's well-equipped and comfortable. Because it's a bungalow, the doors are a good width and there are no steps to deal with, which some people find useful.
There's a pub that does food about a mile and a half away. The nearest shop for basics is in Penrith, which is about three miles. Penrith's got supermarkets and a few shops.
You're about ten miles from Penrith proper. From there, you can get onto the M6 easily or go into the Lakes. Ullswater is maybe twenty minutes by car. You can get the steamer from there. The northern Lakes, like Keswick, are within half an hour's drive.
For facilities, it's got what you'd expect: WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. We can provide a cot and a highchair. No pets, sorry, because of the farm.
