Peacock

This is Peacock. It's near the village of Morton, just outside the Lake District.

It's a detached cottage, so it's on its own. There are big open grounds around it, mainly farmland. The living area is open plan, with big windows looking out onto the deck. The kitchen has everything you need, including a dishwasher and washing machine.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. The main bedroom has a kingsize bed and an en-suite. The other is a twin room. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well-finished. The beds are good quality.

Outside, there's a raised deck with a hot tub. You get a good view of Blencathra and the northern fells from there. There's a barbecue area too. Parking is right outside.

You're on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Ullswater is about a 20-minute drive. You can get on the steamer boats there. For walkers, you've got all the fells, from easy walks up to Helvellyn if you want a challenge. Penrith is the nearest proper town, about ten minutes away, for shops and places to eat.

It’s handy for the M6, so getting around is easy. You can be at Hadrian's Wall in under an hour, or the Scottish Borders in maybe an hour and a half.

Facilities: it has WiFi, a Smart TV, the hot tub, all the kitchen stuff, bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if needed. No pets.
