Corner Cottage is in Girvan, right in the town. It's a two up, two down terrace cottage, so it's not a remote place. You're steps from the main street and the beach is about a minute's walk.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's well looked after and comfortable. It's an old cottage, so the ceilings are low in some rooms. If you're very tall, mind your head on the bedroom doorways.
The beach is sandy and the sunsets over the sea are good. There's a shop about a hundred yards away and a pub around the corner that does food. The harbour is close, where you can sometimes book boat trips out to Ailsa Craig.
You can get the train from Girvan to Ayr or Glasgow if you fancy a day out without the car. For walking, the Ayrshire Coastal Path starts here. The world-famous Turnberry golf course is a five-minute drive away. There's a nice beach walk from there to Culzean Castle, which is in the care of the National Trust. It's got good cliff walks and gardens. National Trust for Scotland: Culzean Castle.
Further afield, within about half an hour's drive, you've got other seaside towns like Ayr, Troon, and Prestwick. The Galloway Forest Park is about forty minutes away if you want proper forest and hills. It's a Dark Sky Park, too.
As for the cottage itself: it's got a small enclosed garden out back with a table and a barbecue. There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and parking for one car on the street outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can take up to two dogs.
