Harbour View House is in Girvan. It's a terraced house, right on the main street. You can see the harbour from the front windows. It's a proper Ayrshire seaside town.
The house sleeps four. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One is a wet room downstairs. That's good if someone has trouble with stairs. The stairs inside are fine.
It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well kitted out. There's a private hot tub in the back garden. The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you bring a dog.
You're about a hundred yards from the beach. It's shingle and sand. The sunsets from there are something else, looking out to Ailsa Craig. You can get boat trips from the harbour to go see the birds on the rock.
Girvan has shops and a few places to eat. There's a leisure centre with a pool. The local pub is about a mile up the road.
For walking, the Ayrshire Coastal Path runs right past. You can head south towards Culzean Castle. It's a dramatic place on the cliffs. The National Trust for Scotland looks after it: NTS Culzean Castle.
If you like golf, Turnberry is close by. The pretty towns like Ayr and Troon are a short drive up the coast. The train from Girvan goes straight into Glasgow, which is good for a day out if you want a city.
Facilities: parking for one car on the street outside, washing machine, WiFi, bedding and towels included. We accept one well-behaved dog.
