The Cottage

The Cottage is a farmhouse on our place, a working beef farm between Old Dailly and Girvan. It's in a quiet spot, but not isolated. You’ll likely see cows around. You get your own enclosed garden, decent size, and there's parking right by the house.

It sleeps six, which I think is right. Three bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom with a shower. The stairs have a stairgate at the top which you can use. The place has a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. There's a woodburning stove in the living room, and we leave you some logs to start you off. Washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, all that's in there. Bedding and towels are included.

We allow up to two dogs. We ask that they stay downstairs and off the furniture. The garden is enclosed, but it's not fortress-like. Some dogs might find a way out if they're really determined, so you'll know best.

There's a village shop and a pub about three miles away in Old Dailly. For a bigger shop, Girvan is ten minutes down the road. You can get boat trips from the harbour there, mackerel fishing or over to Ailsa Craig if that's your thing.

The coast is close. It's a mix of proper beaches and rocky bits. Good for walks. Turnberry golf course is about ten minutes by car. Culzean Castle is a must-see, it's part of the National Trust for Scotland and has good walks as well as the house.

Ayr is about half an hour away for more shops and places to eat. Glasgow Airport is under an hour if you're flying in.
