Ardlochan Cottage is in Maidens, on the Ayrshire coast. It's a traditional stone cottage, right on the seafront. You're about twenty seconds from the beach. The view from the front is over the Firth of Clyde towards the Isle of Arran. You can see it from most rooms.
It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bathroom is a wet room on the ground floor. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped.
The beach itself is sandy and quiet. You can walk along it north and straight into the Culzean Castle estate. That's National Trust for Scotland. There are woodland walks through the grounds there. It's a good day out.
The village shop is a minute's walk away. For a pub, you'll need to drive a couple of miles. Girvan is five minutes by car. They've got shops, a leisure centre with a pool, and you can get boat trips from the harbour out to Ailsa Craig, if you want to see the birds.
Ayr, Prestwick, and Troon are all along the coast within twenty minutes. They have bigger beaches and links golf courses. You can get the ferry to Arran from Ardrossan, or to Cumbrae from Largs. Both are worth the trip.
Inland, Galloway Forest Park is about a forty-minute drive. It's a huge area for walking. They've also got the Dark Sky Park there, which is popular for stargazing.
As for the cottage itself, it's got a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. There's an enclosed garden and patio with a barbecue. Parking is on-site. You can bring up to two dogs. All bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and a cot and highchair if you need them.
