Logiemar Cottage

Logiemar Cottage is in Ballater, up in Aberdeenshire. It's a detached cottage down a quiet lane, so it's peaceful, but you're only a few minutes' walk from the shops and pubs in the village.

It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom. One bedroom has a double bed. The second bedroom is smaller, with a three-quarter size bed, which is fine for one adult or kids. It's a 5 Star place, so it's well looked after. Everything is included, like bedding and towels.

The back garden is fully enclosed and private. There's a wood burner in the living room. It's got a biomass boiler and solar panels, so the heating is sorted. There's also a wood-fired hot tub outside.

You can bring one dog. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. Parking is on the drive.

Ballater itself has a good few shops and places to eat. The River Dee is nearby. It's famous for salmon fishing. Being so close to Balmoral, you'll see a lot of shops have 'By Royal Appointment' signs.

For days out, the Royal Lochnagar Distillery is just up the road if you like whisky. Balmoral Castle is the obvious one. Crathes Castle and Craigievar Castle are both within about a 30-minute drive and are worth a visit. There's golf at the Ballater course, which is walkable from the cottage. In winter, the ski centres at the Lecht and Glenshee are within reach.
