The Coyles
The Coyles is on Grant Road in Ballater. It's a big Victorian house built from local granite in 1888. It's detached and you get the whole house and garden to yourselves.
It sleeps eight people. There are five bedrooms and five bathrooms, so everyone gets some space. It has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped, but it's an old house so watch your head on the doorways and the stairs are what you'd expect.
The garden is enclosed. It's mostly lawn with some trees and shrubs. There's a patio with outdoor furniture and a barbecue. We've got a shed you can use for bikes or kayaks.
You're right in the village, about a hundred yards from the green. There are shops, cafes, and restaurants on your doorstep. The local pub is a couple of minutes' walk away.
You're in the Cairngorms National Park. For walking, you can follow the River Dee or drive a short way to places like Burn O'Vat or Loch Muick. The Cairngorms National Park Authority site has good information. Balmoral Castle is about eight miles west. You're also close to other castles like Crathes and Craigievar.
In winter, the ski centres at Glenshee and the Lecht are within a 30 minute drive. For a day trip, Aberdeen is about an hour away. Inverness is under two hours.
Inside, there's a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, a washing machine, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to three dogs. There's parking on site.
