The Coyles Cottage is in Ballater, just off the village green. It's a detached granite cottage built in 1888, so you get the high ceilings and the old details.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well looked after. The stairs are normal house stairs, not the steep cottage kind.
You're about a minute's walk from the green, shops, cafes, and a few restaurants. It's handy. The cottage has its own enclosed garden, mostly lawn with some trees and a patio with seating. There's a shed for bikes or kayaks.
The cottage faces south, so the back garden gets the sun. There's a conservatory that's nice to sit in. It's triple glazed and has central heating, so it's warm even in winter.
You're right in the Cairngorms National Park. Good walking starts from the door, along the River Dee. A bit further out, you've got places like Burn O'Vat or Loch Muick. The ski centres at Glenshee and the Lecht are within about a 30-minute drive.
Balmoral Castle is about eight miles west. Crathes Castle is about half an hour's drive east, towards Aberdeen.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, WiFi, and parking for one car on the driveway. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to three dogs.
