Eleanor Cottage

Eleanor Cottage is in Ballater village. It’s a detached house, our family home that we rent out when we aren’t using it.

It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It’s got a 4 Star rating. There’s an open-plan living area that’s big and gets a lot of light. There’s also a smaller, older snug room with its own wood burner.

The garden is fully enclosed and private, with a patio and a barbecue. There’s a summer house out there too. The garden faces south, so it gets the sun.

Ballater has a Co-op supermarket, a few pubs, and some cafes and restaurants. There are a lot of independent shops, several with Royal Warrants.

For things to do, you’re right in the Cairngorms National Park. Good walking and cycling from the door. Local golf, fishing, and horse riding. In winter, the ski resorts at Glenshee, The Lecht and Cairngorm are about an hour’s drive through the hills.

Balmoral Estate is nearby for walks and the grounds. For a day out, you can drive to Braemar or up to Royal Deeside. Aberdeen is about an hour away by car if you want a city or a beach.

Inside, there’s a washing machine and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There’s parking and space for bikes. You can bring up to two dogs.
