Summerhill Tanyrhos

Summerhill Tanyrhos is in Blaenau Ffestiniog, up in the slate hills. It's a two-up two-down terraced cottage, slate built. The back garden is cottage-style. It's got a few steps up to a seating area. It's quiet here, feels a bit tucked away.

It sleeps three people. Two bedrooms upstairs, one double and one single. One modern shower room upstairs too. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, with good mattresses. The stairs inside are normal, not the steepest you'll see.

Downstairs is open plan. Living area with a woodburning stove, kitchen with a breakfast table. There's a little utility room with the washing machine, which is handy. You've got a dishwasher, WiFi, TV, all that. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.

Outside, you're right on the edge of town. It's a proper base for outdoors. Mountain bike trails start nearby. Coed Y Brenin forest is about 20 minutes drive for more famous trails. Walkers are well catered for too.

A five minute drive gets you to Llechwedd Slate Caverns and Zip World. Good for a wet day or if you want some high wires. Betws-y-Coed is a nice spot, about 20 minutes away, with shops and cafes. It's a gateway into the Snowdonia National Park.

Porthmadog is half an hour by car. The Welsh Highland Railway runs from there. Black Rock Sands beach is there. Harlech is a bit further down the coast, maybe 40 minutes. The castle and the beach dunes are worth the trip. It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
