Jack's House is in Tywyn, on the main coast road. It's a big, detached Victorian house that sleeps fourteen, so it's really for a group. It's got seven bedrooms and five bathrooms. It's a 4 Star, so it's well-equipped and kept up.
The kitchen is large and has an American-style fridge freezer and a coffee machine. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. The garden is enclosed, with a patio and a barbecue.
It's in the town, so you can walk to local shops, a few pubs and places to eat. The Magic Lantern Cinema is a short walk away, which is a good old-fashioned place. Ynysmaengwyn woods and park are just behind the house for a stroll.
You're right on the Wales Coast Path. You can walk north along the beach past the river, or you can walk all the way to Aberdyfi along the sand if the tide's out. It's a proper walk, but you end up in a nice little harbour village.
The Talyllyn Railway station is in Tywyn. You can take the steam train up to Abergynolwyn. It's a lovely, slow ride into the hills. A short drive east takes you to Castell y Bere, which is a ruined castle in a quiet valley. It's run by Cadw.
Snowdonia is about a 45-minute drive if you want mountains. For planning wider days out, the Snowdonia National Park site is useful, and Visit Wales has good information.
Facilities: all bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair. There's parking for several cars on the drive. No pets, sorry.
