Jack's House is in Tywyn. It's the one painted grey with the blue door, just off the high street.
It sleeps fourteen, which is a lot. Seven bedrooms, five bathrooms. Three of the bedrooms have their own shower rooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well-equipped and in good order. It's a big house for a big group.
The kitchen is big, with a large fridge-freezer and a dishwasher. There's a washing machine too. The garden is enclosed, with a patio and a barbecue. There's also a games room downstairs, which is handy if the weather turns.
You can walk to shops, pubs, and restaurants from the house. The Magic Lantern Cinema is about a five-minute walk, it's a proper old-fashioned place. For a walk, Ynysmaengwyn park is close by. It's woodland with the ruins of a big house.
The beach is a short walk away. You can walk along the sand to Aberdyfi if you fancy it, it takes a good hour or so. Aberdyfi is nice, a bit more polished, with a harbour. The Talyllyn Railway steam train starts in Tywyn. It goes up the valley to Abergynolwyn. It's a gentle, slow trip, good for kids.
If you drive, you're half an hour from Cadair Idris. The Dysynni Valley is just east of town, and the old castle there, Castell y Bere, is very quiet. Snowdonia National Park is about an hour's drive north for bigger walks.
Parking is on site, for two or three cars depending on size. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. No pets, sorry.
