Boxing Hare

The Boxing Hare is a detached cottage in Burton Pedwardine, a small village in Lincolnshire. That means it's quiet, but you're not completely cut off.

It says it sleeps four, but it's got one bedroom. The bedroom has a double bed, and then there's a sofa bed in the sitting room. So it works if you're two adults and two kids, or maybe two couples who don't mind not having a second bedroom door. It's a 3 Star place. It's clean and functional.

You've got your own enclosed garden. It's got a patio and a lawn. There's a barbecue too. Parking is just outside.

The village is tiny. The nearest shop and pub are about a mile and a half away in Walcott, so you'll likely drive. There are good walks straight from the door, through the fields. You'll see a lot of hares, which is where the name comes from. There are deer in the paddock next door sometimes.

Mayfield Vineyard is here in the village. You can book a wine tasting with them directly, or you can arrange to have a bottle waiting for you in the cottage fridge when you arrive.

Sleaford is about six miles away. You can get most things you need there, and there's a train station. You can get the train to Skegness for the seaside, or even to London if you fancy a long day out.

Lincoln is about a 40-minute drive. The cathedral is the main draw, and the castle is right next to it. The historic bit on the hill is very good for a wander.

For facilities, it's got WiFi and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine. We can provide a cot and a highchair. We accept up to two dogs. There's fishing nearby if you're into that.

A few useful links if you're planning: Lincolnshire Countryside for walks and cycle routes, and Lincoln Cathedral for visiting information.
