Abbott's Farm

Abbott's Farm is our place, a detached farmhouse on a non-working farm in Horbling village. It sleeps eighteen, which frankly is a lot, and it's got eight bedrooms and five bathrooms. I'd call it spacious more than posh. It's got a 4 Star rating.

The main thing is the space. There are two sitting rooms and a library with a lot of books and DVDs. It's an old building so there are features like exposed wood and a fancy cornice in the dining room. The kitchen is the farmhouse kind. The stairs are wooden and normal.

Outside, the garden is lawned and private. There are fruit trees you can pick from when they're in season. There's a patio with a barbecue, garden furniture, a hot tub, and the swimming pool. The pool is for your private use.

There's a village pub about 300 yards away. For a shop and a pub that does food, you go to Billingborough, about half a mile.

Being in the Fens, it's flat. Good for walking and cycling right from the door. You get big skies. For days out, Burghley House near Stamford is about forty minutes by car. Tattershall Castle and Belton House are a similar drive. Boston's St Botolph's Church is a landmark around here. If you're keen on gardens, Springfields in Spalding is worth a visit.

Inside, you've got the things you'd need: a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TVs, a games room. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair. We allow up to four dogs. Parking is on site.
