Apostles Back House
This is Apostles Back House. It's a one-bedroom cottage in Catacol, on the Isle of Arran. That's on the west coast.
It's behind the row of white cottages you might have seen pictures of, the Twelve Apostles. The beach is about a hundred yards away. It's a pebble beach.
The cottage sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's a modern conversion inside, everything works. It's open plan downstairs.
There's a small patio garden. It's enclosed. Wifi, TV, washing machine, all the usual things are there. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
You can walk straight from the door. There's a path along the burn, or you can walk over the hill to Lochranza on the old Postman's Path. You see red deer around here often. Red squirrels too. Seals and otters are in the bay.
Lochranza is a few miles along the coast. That's where the distillery is. The whole island is good for walking or cycling. The coast road is quiet.
If you want to explore, Brodick Castle is about half an hour's drive. The whole island is managed by the National Trust for Scotland. Their site has good information for planning walks and visits.
