This is Sqlarran Cottage, in Lochranza. It's at the top end of the Isle of Arran. The ferry from Kintyre comes in just across the bay.
It's a detached stone cottage. It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean, warm, and well looked after. The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you're bringing dogs. The cottage is on a single level from the entrance, so there are no steps inside to get to the living area and one bedroom. The other bedroom is upstairs.
From the living room you look out over Lochranza Bay. You can see the castle on the spit and the hills behind. On a clear day you can see right up Loch Fyne.
Lochranza itself is small. There's a hotel with a bar, a post office, and a really good seafood restaurant. The Arran distillery is a two minute walk away. They do tours and have a café. There's a 9-hole golf course and the start of a lot of good walks. There's no shop, so you'll need to bring supplies or go to Brodick.
Brodick is about half an hour's drive south. That's where the big ferry from Ardrossan comes in. It has supermarkets, petrol stations, and more shops and cafes. The coastal road round to Blackwaterfoot is a great drive.
For things to do, walking is the main one. You can tackle Goat Fell if you're fit, or just walk sections of the coastal path. The castle in the bay, Lochranza Castle, is managed by Historic Environment Scotland. Brodick Castle and its gardens are run by the National Trust for Scotland. The island is great for cycling, wildlife spotting, and golf. You'll almost always see red deer around the village.
In the cottage there's a woodburning stove, WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking is right outside. It's all on one electricity meter so utilities are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
