Sqlarran Cottage is in Lochranza, right at the north end of Arran. It's a detached stone cottage, so it's got that solid, quiet feel to it. The view from the front is straight over Lochranza Bay.
It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. There's a woodburning stove, which is good for cooler nights. The garden is enclosed, so it's safe for dogs or kids. We can take up to two pets.
Lochranza itself is small. There's a hotel with a bar, a post office, and a seafood restaurant that's well thought of. There's no shop or supermarket here, so you'd need to stock up in Brodick. The Arran distillery is just along the road. They do tours and have a cafe.
The ferry from Claonaig on the mainland comes in here, which is handy. Brodick, where the main ferry from Ardrossan comes in, is about half an hour's drive south. That's where you'll find the bigger supermarkets and more shops.
For things to do, you're in the right spot. There's a golf course, you can fish locally, and you're right on the coast. Walking trails start from the village. The coastal path is great. You'll see deer around here, and there are seals in the bay. Brodick Castle and Gardens are about a 25 minute drive away, if you like that sort of thing. It's run by the National Trust for Scotland.
Facilities in the cottage: we've got WiFi, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but it's a traditional cottage layout inside so some rooms might be trickier.
