Lottie's Luxurious Lodge
Lottie's Lodge is a two-bedroom wooden cabin we built a few years ago. It sits at the edge of our land here in Devil's Den, near Maidstone. The woods start right behind it.
It says 'luxurious' in the name, which to us means it's got decent finishing, like underfloor heating and a decent shower. It sleeps four across two bedrooms, both with king-size beds, and there are two bathrooms, one ensuite. It's got a 4 Star rating.
You get a private bit of decking with a table and chairs and a barbecue. The main garden and the 13 acres are ours, but you're welcome to walk around. There's a lake you can sit by. You might see our dogs out for a walk sometimes.
Inside, it's all on one level, which makes it straightforward. There's a kitchen with a dishwasher, a living area with a TV, and parking right outside. We can provide a cot and highchair.
The local pub is about a mile's walk down the lane. It's a proper walk, so bring a torch for coming back. Maidstone is about eight miles for bigger shops and things like the leisure centre.
For days out, Leeds Castle is the big one, about ten minutes by car. It's good for a wander. The Visit Kent website has lists of other things going on. Mote Park in Maidstone is huge if you just want some open space.
We allow one well-behaved dog. The other lodges nearby are ours too, so if you're booking with another family, you can all be together.
