Awelfryn

Awelfryn is a bungalow near Abererch, just outside Pwllheli. It's from the 1920s, but there's a modern extension on the back. That's where the living area is. It gets a lot of light and has big glass doors that open onto a long balcony.

The balcony is slate-floored and it's the main thing about the place. You get the full view from there, right across Cardigan Bay to the mountains. You can sit out there with a drink and just watch it.

Inside, they kept some old bits like the bread oven. They've put a multi-fuel stove inside it, which is quite clever. It heats the room well. It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and one bathroom. Everything is on the ground floor, so no stairs.

You can walk to Abererch Beach. It's not far. Pwllheli itself is also within walking distance if you don't mind a bit of a stroll. That's where the shops, pubs and places to eat are. The property has an enclosed garden too, so if you're bringing dogs it's secure.

You're right on the edge of the Llŷn Peninsula. The coast path is a short drive away. The beaches here are good and it feels quite remote. You often see seals and lots of seabirds along the cliffs.

In terms of stuff it has: there's a dishwasher, a washing machine, WiFi, and parking on site. Bedding and towels are included. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.

For planning days out, the Visit Wales Coastal North site is useful, and the National Trust Llŷn Peninsula page has information on the area.
