The Castle

The Castle is in Brean, Somerset. It's detached, on its own plot right on the headland. The garden has a gate that leads straight onto the beach.

It sleeps eight people. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms are king-size with their own shower rooms. It's a 4 Star property, so it's well-equipped and comfortable. The refurbishment in 2018 was thorough.

The beach is seven miles long. Dogs are allowed on it all year. The garden is fully enclosed, which is handy with pets or children. There's a deck with seating and a BBQ lodge.

Brean itself has the classic seaside stuff: amusement parks, arcades, places to eat. It's lively in season. For a quieter walk, Brean Down is right there, managed by the National Trust. The views from the top are worth the climb.

Burnham-on-Sea is a short drive along the coast. Weston-super-Mare is about twenty minutes by car if you want a bigger town.

Inland, you've got Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole caves within half an hour. Wells is a nice market town with a cathedral, also about thirty minutes away. You can see Glastonbury Tor from the property on a clear day.

The main thing here is the position. You're right on the beach. You get the views and the sound of the sea.

Facilities: parking for several cars, WiFi, washing machine, dishwasher, cot and highchair available. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
