Queen's View Lodge

This is the Lodge, Queen's View Lodge. It's up at Inchmarlo, on the edge of Banchory in Aberdeenshire. It's on the first floor of a small block, built into the side of a hill in the golf course woodland. Because of that, you walk in on the upper floor. That's where the main living space is.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, all downstairs from the living area. It's a 4 Star, so it's comfortable and well kept. It's not huge, but it's efficient.

The main thing is the balcony off the living room. It looks out over the trees. It's a proper suntrap in the afternoon. You can sit out there with a drink. The furniture up there is decent. It's open plan, so the kitchen, dining and sitting area are all one room.

You're right on the Inchmarlo Golf Club estate. The Queen's Course is there if you want a round. The clubhouse has a restaurant and bar you can use. There's a driving range too.

Banchory is about a 15 minute walk down the hill, or two minutes in the car. All the shops you need are there, couple of supermarkets, cafes, a few good places to eat. The River Dee is there for a walk.

From here you're straight into Royal Deeside. Ballater is about 20 minutes drive. Balmoral is a bit further. For walking, you've got miles of it. The Visit Deeside site has good routes. The Linn of Dee and the Bridge of Feugh are worth seeing. If you want the coast, Stonehaven and Aberdeen are roughly half an hour.

In terms of stuff here: it's got parking right outside, including an electric vehicle charger. Washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
