Mountshade

Mountshade is one of three lodges on our land, up near Whitestone. It's detached and you've got a good bit of space between you and the other two, so it feels private. The view from here is over towards Cairn O’Mount. We're set in about eight acres of woodland, so it's quiet.

The lodge sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathroom, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, with things like a woodburning stove and a dishwasher. The main living area is open plan with high ceilings. Big concertina doors open right out onto a deck, so you can sit outside and just look at the view.

There's a shop and a pub about five miles away in Finzean. For a bigger town, Banchory is about the same distance. It's got a few shops and places to eat. Aberdeen is roughly half an hour by car if you need a city trip or bigger shops.

You're right on the edge of Royal Deeside here. Good walking country. Balmoral Castle is about a twenty minute drive. For longer walks or cycling, you've got the Cairngorms National Park not far off. In winter, the ski resorts at the Lecht and Cairngorm are within an hour or so.

Facilities are all there: WiFi, TV, washing machine, bedding included. There's parking right outside. We allow one well-behaved dog.
