Milton Cottage is in Rosehall, up near Lairg in the Highlands. It's a detached stone cottage with its own garden all the way round. You get a good view out the back over fields to the hills.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable but not new. There's a bedroom and the bathroom on the ground floor, which is useful. The stairs are normal, nothing too narrow.
You come in through a side door into a utility room. It's good for boots and wet coats. There's an open fire in the living room. We leave wood and coal for it. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine.
It's a good spot for getting around up here. Dornoch is about half an hour east. Ullapool is about forty-five minutes west. Inverness is just over an hour's drive south.
The place has always been popular with anglers. It's near the Cassley and Oykell rivers. You'd need to sort your own permits and tickets, but I can point you in the right direction if you're interested.
You can bring up to three dogs. The garden is enclosed. There's parking on the driveway. Bedding and towels are included.
If you're planning trips, the Walkhighlands site is good for routes. For general information, VisitScotland and the National Records of Scotland have useful pages on the area.
