The Big Hoose

The Big Hoose is that big white house up on the hill at Auchintoul. You can't miss it. The views are the main thing, they really are. You look out over fields and hills.

It sleeps eight, in four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, so everything is in good order and works. The main door opens into a big hallway with a high ceiling. There's a piano in there if anyone plays.

There’s a large kitchen and a separate utility room with a washing machine. The living room has a big wood burner and doors out to the deck. In the middle of the house is a games room, so kids or anyone else can make a bit of noise without bothering everyone else.

The garden at the back is fully fenced, so it's safe for dogs and children. There's a hot tub on the deck that seats six.

You are quite remote here. The nearest pub and restaurant is about five miles away in Tomintoul. A proper shop is about 23 miles, in Grantown-on-Spey. The beach is a good drive, 21 miles to the coast at Lossiemouth.

You're right in the Cairngorms. For walking, cycling, or just driving through the scenery, you're in a good spot. The Cairngorms National Park website has all the information you’ll need. For local history, Culloden is about 45 minutes away.

Facilities are all there: parking, Wi-Fi, TV, dishwasher, bedding and towels included. It's wheelchair accessible to get in, but you'd need to check the layout inside for specific needs. We take up to two dogs. There's a shower in each bathroom.
