The Big Hoose
The Big Hoose is in Auchintoul, in the Scottish Highlands. It's a detached house, so you're on your own up here. The views are big, across fields and hills.
It sleeps eight people. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. The entrance hall is two stories high and has a piano in it, which is a bit unusual. There's a proper wood burner in the living room.
Outside, the garden at the back is fully fenced, so it's safe for dogs and kids. There's a hot tub on the decking that fits six. Plenty of parking at the front.
You're quite remote. The nearest pub and restaurant is about five miles away. A proper shop is further, about 23 miles, so you need to plan your groceries. The beach is about 21 miles.
Inside, there's a games room, a utility room, and the kitchen is large. It's all on one level once you're in, and the entrance has no steps, which is good for wheelchairs or if you don't like stairs.
The facilities are what you'd expect: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We take up to two dogs.
You're well placed for getting out into the Highlands. For planning trips, the Visit Scotland Highlands site has good information. The National Trust for Scotland has details on lots of local places like castles and walks.
