Lower Hilton Cottage is in Culrain, in the Scottish Highlands. It's detached, set back from the road in its own garden. The garden isn't fenced, just a big bit of lawn with trees around it. You get a clear view out to the Kyle of Sutherland and the hills.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The design is clean and simple, lots of white wood. It feels fresh. There's a wood burner in the living room.
You come in through the back door into a dining area. The stairs go up from there. They're normal stairs, nothing tricky. Upstairs, two of the bedrooms have good views out both sides.
It's very quiet here. You'll see deer and birds. The nearest village is Ardgay, about ten minutes' drive. There's a small shop there. Across the bridge, in Bonar Bridge, there's a butcher and a place to eat.
For walks, you can step straight out the door. There are paths through the woods and along the estuary. The mountain biking routes are good and quiet. If you fish, the local rivers are well known for salmon.
Golf is a big thing here. Royal Dornoch is about twenty five minutes away. Golspie and Brora are closer and are proper links courses too.
Dornoch is worth a visit. Tain is about the same distance, where you'll find the Glenmorangie Distillery. The cottage is a good spot for the NC500 route, or for heading west towards places like Ullapool.
Facilities: there's a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a BBQ.
