Foundry Bank

Foundry Bank is in the village of Bonar Bridge. It's part of the old foundry building. The owner lives next door. It's a semi-detached stone cottage.

It sleeps four, in two double bedrooms. There's one shower room, on the ground floor. It has a 4 Star rating. The stairs inside are the original cottage stairs, so they're a bit steep and narrow. Just take your time.

You're right on the Kyle of Sutherland. From the upstairs windows you can see the water and the bridge.

In the village, there's a shop, a pub, and a bakery about a hundred yards away. They're handy. There's also a bistro a bit further along. The golf course is a nine-hole one.

If you drive for about fifteen minutes, you can get to the Falls of Shin. You can see the salmon jumping there from a viewing platform. The Forestry and Land Scotland site has up-to-date visiting information.

For wider trips, you're in a good spot. The road west to the coast around Ullapool is spectacular. Inverness is roughly forty minutes south. The north coast is a longer drive, but doable for a day out.

The place has a washing machine, a dishwasher, wifi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. You can bring one dog.

For planning days out, the Scottish Wildlife Trust and NatureScot websites are useful for the local area.
