Rowan Cottage

Rowan Cottage is in Rosehall, on Glenrossal Estate. It's one of two stone cottages converted from old farm buildings. The view is out over the River Cassley. It's very quiet here.

The cottage sleeps five. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The layout is open plan downstairs, with a living area that has an open fire. There's a single bedroom on the ground floor, then two more bedrooms upstairs. The bathroom is also upstairs. The stairs are normal, not especially steep.

The kitchen is fine. It has what you need. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. All bedding and towels are included. You can park right outside.

The garden is lawned and fully enclosed, but it is shared with the cottage next door, Birch Cottage. There are picnic tables.

It’s a fishing estate. You have access to about two and a half miles of the River Cassley for salmon fishing. There's a small loch behind the cottages for practice. You need to arrange a licence directly with the estate before you come if you want to fish.

The nearest pub that does food is about three quarters of a mile away. The proper shop is in Lairg, 11 miles away, so you'll want to bring supplies. Ullapool is about 45 minutes’ drive west, through some really great scenery. The east coast villages like Dornoch are about an hour the other way, with good beaches and golf.

You can bring up to three dogs. We provide a cot and a highchair if you need them.
