Keeper's House

Keeper's House is on the Glenrossal Estate in Rosehall. It's a detached stone cottage overlooking the River Cassley. The views from the windows are very good, all hills and water.

It sleeps six in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one with a bath and one with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped, but it's an old estate house so the rooms are big and the floors can be a bit creaky. The kitchen is large with a proper table. The living room has an open fireplace you can use.

You're right on the river. The estate has fishing rights for about two and a half miles. There are six rods available, Monday to Saturday. If you want to fish, you need to book the rods and get a licence through the estate office directly before you come. There's also a small loch behind the cottage for practice.

The nearest pub that does food is about three quarters of a mile away. The proper shops are in Lairg, which is 11 miles. You'll want to bring a big shop with you.

For getting out, Ullapool is about 45 minutes west. The drive through Dirrie More is spectacular. Going east, you've got the east coast villages like Dornoch and Golspie in under an hour, which have good beaches and golf. The NC500 route is on your doorstep.

What's here: a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, highchair and cot. Bedding and towels are included. The garden is enclosed. You can bring pets, up to three dogs. There's parking right outside.

If you're planning walks or days out, the Walkhighlands website is very useful, and NatureScot has information on the local areas.
