Keeper's House

Keeper's House is on the Glenrossal Estate, a few miles outside Rosehall. It's a stone cottage, detached, right by the River Cassley. You look out over the river and the glen from most of the windows. It's very quiet.

It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one with a shower, the other with a bath. That's quite handy for a larger group. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well equipped.

The kitchen is a good size, farmhouse style with a Belfast sink. The living room has an open fireplace. We provide the wood. The stairs are a typical cottage staircase, so they turn a corner and are a bit steeper than modern ones.

The main thing here is the fishing. The estate has about two and a half miles of the River Cassley for salmon fishing. There's a hut by the river for the anglers. There's also a small loch behind the cottage which is good for practice if you're new to it. You need to sort licences and rods direct with the estate before you come.

For a pub or a meal, the nearest is about three quarters of a mile up the road. The proper shop is in Rosehall, about eleven miles away, so you'll want to come with supplies.

It's a good spot for getting out. The drive to Ullapool on the west coast takes about 45 minutes and the scenery is spectacular. Going east, places like Dornoch and Golspie are about an hour. They have long sandy beaches and famous golf courses.

In terms of what's here: the garden is enclosed, there's parking, WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. Pets are welcome.
