Ladymoor

Ladymoor is in Stanley, right next to the River Severn. It's a big old sandstone house from the 1600s, detached, with a good-sized garden that goes down to the riverbank. The view from the house and the garden is over the Severn Valley. It's very peaceful.

The house sleeps fifteen, so it's good for big groups or family get-togethers. There are six bedrooms and four bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped, but it's an old building so there are things to know. The stairs are steep and narrow in places. It's just how it is.

You're about fifty yards from Highley station on the Severn Valley Railway. Steam trains go past the back of the garden. You can get a normal train to Kidderminster and then change to the steam railway to get here. The Engine House Museum is at the station. There's a country park just up the path too.

For walking, the Severn Way footpath goes right past the front gate. There are lots of other paths and bridleways from the door. If you like fishing, the stretch of river outside is very well known for barbel. There are day ticket stretches nearby and carp lakes not far away.

The local pub is a few minutes' walk. The shop is in Highley village, about three quarters of a mile. Astbury Golf Course is a five minute drive.

You can get to a lot of places within about half an hour or so. Bridgnorth and Bewdley are close. The West Midlands Safari Park is about fifteen minutes by car. A bit further, you've got Ludlow, Worcester, and Ironbridge. The Long Mynd and Wenlock Edge are within an hour's drive.

In the house you've got a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, a washing machine, a games room, and satellite TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring up to three dogs. Parking is on site.
