Owls Roost

Aldeburgh itself is a proper coastal town. You can buy fish straight from the boats on the shingle beach. It's known for music, mostly because of Benjamin Britten and the Snape Maltings concert hall nearby.
For walking, you're right on the Suffolk Coast Path. RSPB Minsmere is a short drive up the coast, it's famous for birdwatching. Southwold, with its pier and the Adnams brewery, is about fifteen minutes by car.
