Field Cottage is on the edge of Tunstall Forest, near Sudbourne. It's a single storey cottage with an extension upstairs, so it feels a bit like two houses stacked on top of each other. The setting is quiet, mostly just trees and fields.
It sleeps up to seven people in four bedrooms, with two bathrooms. The rating is 3 Star, which like they say means it's comfortable and clean, not luxurious. The stairs to the upstairs bedrooms are open on one side and they are quite steep. There's a stairgate at the bottom.
The garden is enclosed, which is useful. It's got a patio and a barbecue. You can bring up to three dogs. There's also stabling for four horses if you need it, and space to store bikes.
Orford is about three miles away. It's a nice little village with a castle, a couple of pubs, and a shop. The river there is good for boat trips if that's your thing. Aldeburgh is a short drive along the coast for the beach and the fish and chips. Snape Maltings is close by for concerts and shopping.
For walking, you've got the forest right there and it's not far to the coast path. The National Trust looks after a lot of the coastline around here. If you want to go out on the water, Woodbridge and the Deben estuary are about twenty minutes by car.
Inside, there's a wood-burning stove, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. WiFi works fine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for a couple of cars on the gravel drive.
