Thatched Cottage is a big 17th century house, detached, in Sternfield. It's very old, possibly the oldest place in the village, but it's been updated well inside. You're not in the middle of nowhere, but it's quiet. There are fields around.
The main house sleeps four, and there's a separate barn annexe that sleeps two more, making six in total. It's got a 5 star rating, which means it's very well looked after. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms spread between the house and the barn. The original features are still there, like the big inglenook fireplace. It's got a wood burning stove.
You get the whole garden to yourselves, it's enclosed. There's parking right there.
The pub is about a mile's walk, maybe less. Aldeburgh on the coast is about a 15 minute drive. It's a good beach, shingle mostly, with fish and chips and shops. It gets busy in summer.
For walking, you're close to the coast path and there's plenty of countryside inland. The Suffolk Coast & Heaths area is right there. Framlingham with its castle is about 20 minutes away. Southwold and its pier is maybe 40 minutes.
Inside, it's got what you'd need: dishwasher, washing machine, wifi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. They allow two dogs. They can arrange a hot tub for hire if you wanted one, but you need to sort that out with them directly.
