Number 5
Number 5 is a lovely property, in a row of traditional Cotswold stone cottages. It was originally built to accommodate the weavers who worked in the many silk mills in the village of Blockley. Step inside straight into the well-equipped kitchen and through to the living/dining room where you’re met with a lovely feature fireplace with an open fire to enjoy during the colder months and beautiful oak beams. On the first floor is a double bedroom and spacious bathroom. On the 2nd floor is a twin bedroom, the spacious landing features a seating area where you can enjoy peace and quiet with a good book overlooking the gardens. Number 5 boasts a beautiful cottage garden which is slightly offset to the cottage and enjoys a large patio area which catches the sunshine and a further lawned area.
The historic village of Blockley sits in the North Cotswolds between Chipping Campden and Moreton In Marsh and is very peaceful and picturesque yet benefits from having a pub and a community owned village shop and café, as well as a historic Norman church. The church and village is used for the filming of the BBC series ‘Father Brown’. There are many scenic walks from the doorstep that you can take your dogs on around the village, Dove Dale Woods and into the countryside are both popular places to take them. Chipping Campden offers many eateries and picturesque streets and Moreton In Marsh, is a traditional market town and offers rail links to London Paddington. There are many other towns and villages to explore where you’ll find traditional cafés, independent shops and an array of pubs and restaurants including Broadway, where you can visit Broadway Tower, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water; where you can sit along the shallow River Windrush.
