This is Fferam Gorniog, up on Holyhead Mountain. It's one of the oldest cottages here. It's detached, so it's just you and the views. And the views are the main thing. You can see right over the harbour, the breakwater, and all the way to the mountains in Snowdonia.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's very comfortable and well-equipped.
The garden is enclosed, which is good if you have a dog. You're allowed one well-behaved pet. It's a terraced garden, so it's on a few different levels. Nice to sit out there in the evening.
You're basically at the foot of the mountain walks. You can walk or cycle to the summit from the door. South Stack Lighthouse is about five minutes away by car. It's an RSPB reserve, so there are loads of seabirds. You can often see seals in the sea below.
Holyhead town and the ferry port are a short drive down the hill. For other things to do, you've got the whole of Anglesey. The coast path is good. There's a golf course nearby. Beaumaris and the other castles are within a half hour drive. Snowdonia National Park is about 30 minutes away for the bigger mountains.
Inside, it's got a woodburning stove for colder nights. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a highchair if you need one.
If you're planning walks or days out, these sites are useful: National Trust Anglesey, RSPB South Stack, and Snowdonia National Park.
