Hillside Retreat

This is Hillside Retreat in Prestatyn. It's a detached house on the hill, so you get a view out over the town and the sea, which is about a mile off.

It sleeps six in three bedrooms, with two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's finished to a high standard, it's comfortable and well-equipped. It's what's called upside-down, so the living area is upstairs to make the most of the view. The stairs are open and steep in places, so you need to be careful.

From the upstairs living area, there are bi-folding doors that open onto a balcony that runs along the front. There's also a door out to the garden, which has a private decked area with furniture. The master bedroom downstairs has two walk-in wardrobes that lead into its en-suite.

The town centre is a short walk away. There's a shop, a pub, and restaurants about half a mile down the hill. The sandy beach is about a mile and a half. The Nova Centre has a swimming pool and soft play. There's a cinema too.

For walking, Prestatyn is the start of the Offa's Dyke Path. You don't have to walk to Chepstow, there are shorter routes. Rhuddlan Castle is close by, and the small city of St Asaph with its cathedral is worth a visit.

You can get to Chester in about half an hour by car for a day out. Going the other way on the A55, Llandudno is about 40 minutes. That's where the Great Orme is, with the cable car and tramway.

Facilities cover most things: parking on site, WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
