The Old Winery Cottage is in Poolhill, near Newent. It used to be part of a winery, hence the name. It's a detached bungalow, so everything's on one level. The owners live in the main house next door, but you've got your own space.
It's for two people. One bedroom, but two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's well-finished and comfortable. There's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. The garden is private, but it's within a bigger shared garden that's enclosed.
There's a hot tub outside. You look out over the Three Choirs Vineyard fields and the hills towards the Forest of Dean. It's very quiet.
The nearest shop and pub are about two miles away in Newent. Newent itself is nice for a wander. There's a restaurant about three miles away.
You're well-placed for getting around. The M50 junction is close, which helps. Gloucester is about ten miles for the cathedral and docks. The Forest of Dean is right there for walking or mountain biking. The Wye Valley, including Tintern Abbey and Symonds Yat, is within half an hour. Cheltenham is also about half an hour away for the shops or the races.
Local things you might look up: the International Birds of Prey Centre is very close, and you can visit Three Choirs Vineyard. For planning walks, the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty site is useful, as is the Forest of Dean site.
Facilities: it has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.
